where he is known as the little honey.

He is beautiful, clever, thoughtful and polite; no matter at school or at home, he is loved by people who meet him.

In September of 2007 he entered the nursery school. At school, his language ability, cognitive ability and hands-on ability are all practiced fully; he obeys the rules of the class; he can speak in class bravely and actively; he is positive, can get along well with other children, so he is the child loved by teacher.

In November of 2008 he had his pysical exam, and the doctor said that his heart recovered well. On Sep.1 2011 he entered the primary school.

He draws lines, circles, squares, 7-10 parts of a person, runs, skips, jumps. Cameron writes his name, ties his shoe laces, recognizes shapes, knows colors, numbers, left and right, days of the week. Cameron is active, extroverted, gets along with others, and is quick in reaction.

Please take the time to read this letter from a young lady, living in China:

My name is Lydia.

I am a girl from Changsha, China, the capital of Hunan.

When I was a young child a fire in my home badly burned all of my limbs and face. Over the next several years I had many surgeries during which both of my legs and parts of my hands were amputated.

After the fire, my parents and family abandoned me and I have lived at an orphanage in Changsha ever since.

Because of this event, my life has been forever altered. Many times in my adult life I have sought to enter society because it is my dream to use my two hands to support myself. But society is cruel and my efforts have always been unsuccessful. Some even laughed at me saying I am too ugly and none have given me the slightest chance to show my abilities.

Even through I have failed so far, I have never given up hope that I can someday support myself. I have always encouraged myself by saying that there must be at least one path to success and that I must not give up trying.

Finally, God gave me a very unexpected gift. That gift has been the understanding of how to embroider. Through the last several years of diligent work, I have been able to produce works that express my perseverance, successes, hopes and dreams.

I hope that I can meet many new friends from different countries through my embroidery. I normally am very solitary as I am alone by myself most days which despite my embroidery, can be very boring. However, I do not want to complain about my life, but strive to live joyfully.

Because I know that God is with me and loves me, I believe that he has good plans for me. I hope that through your generosity and this business I can be encouraged, helped and supported.

and is in foster care with An Orphan's Wish Wiliam is a serious, handsome boy who is a good student. He loves Writing, Composition , Math, and Reading.

William is a good communicator and problem solver. He gets along well with classmates, friends, teachers, and caregivers.

William loves to fly kites, play ball, and runs, jumps, like any other active 11 year old boy. His club feet are completely repaired.

She jumps, walks, goes upstairs-but doesn't have the need to often

Sage can speak short sentences

picks out red blocks when asked

Can count her fingers to five

(sometimes makes a mistake)
The orphanage is confident that she is delayed due to her CHD

and

now that she has had her surgery,

she is learning quickly and catching up with her peers.

*At five, it was noted she needed more intensified training in colors and numbers

Two Years ago, when Jacqueline was 8 years old she:

knew the concept of big/small/few/many/gender/colors

knew her address

could go to the store and buy small items alone

could wash her own clothing

could express ideas correctly

recognized and wrote numbers 1-10 correctly

could do simple addition and subtraction

knew names of animals/vegetables

could tie her shoes

could cut shapes with scissors on a straight or curved line

had vague concept of seasons, but knew weather changes

Matthew is now on an agency list...

6 yrs old

Matthew is under the care of ICC.

Matthew has Thalassemia Major and needs blood transfusions every month. He attends preschool in the community.He starts grade one in September 2011. He is a smart boy and is doing well in school. Matthew is very mature and has a very level head. He has conversations with adults about his medical condition, which he handles very maturely from the outside. For as long as he has remembered he has had monthly transfusions and tests and has acceptedthe need for this. Matthew is well behaved and has a good relationship with his peers. He likes to play with other children his age and older. Both adults and other children really like him. He likes to draw and likes to play on computers, and he likes to watch DVDs (like most kids). He is strong willed and when he has made his mind up he needs a bit of time to bring him around. He is a bit of a fussy eater-especially when he is not feeling well - this is improving at the moment as he has just moved in with some children that are mostly older than him (as opposed to when he was with younger children) and they are being good role models for him.

I’m just a mom. Just like most of you. I scurry from soccer games to choir, grocery store to library, dishwasher to washing machine. And then finally I fall into bed. Sometimes I get so caught up in the day to day, that I forget to look at the horizon, stop and enjoy creation and see the big picture of life. Do you ever feel like that?

I know that there is more than “just keeping up.” In James 1:27 we are commanded to look after the widows and orphans in their distress. If you are anything like me you read that and think “but what can little old me do in my small world?” In the mist of our every day comforts we lose sight of the fact that necessities are not equal to wants. Yes, the economy is not what it used to be. Yes, gasoline is on the rise. But how many dollars do we waste and not even blink at it. To an orphan, every dollar counts and makes a difference.

As most of you know, the first step for many Special Needs kids is to have the surgery they need before they can move toward adoption with their forever families. Please join me in a “Surgery Fund Challenge” for the new kids at New Day Foster Home. For every dollar pledged, another dollar will be matched up to a maximum of $5,000. Did you know that if just 200 people will commit to $25 we could meet the match amount? Will you consider: giving up eating out for lunch or dinner just once, maybe twice; a pedicure; a couple of Starbucks; or a hair cut and pledge that amount to this fund? Perhaps you could hold a garage sale and give some of your proceeds to the fund; collect aluminum cans; have a bake sale at a soccer tournament and pledge that amount to this fund? Your sacrifice will make a difference to these kids.

Like many of you, I read the blogs, study the faces of these children, know them instantly by name, and celebrate the arrival of their families. That is nice, but in my heart I know there needs to be more. I realized I can’t make a difference if I sit on the sidelines. Please stand up with me for these kids and pledge whatever you can. That is what is officially known as around here...

for two years ago on the 5th of May...

Maia Cai officially became a part of our family!

Here she is the day we received PA to adopt her

August of 2008

(She was 16 mth old)

So excited to receive this picture...and in all our craziness had to add a princess tiara...

As we gathered our paperwork...

we received some precious glimpses into her life...
We sent clothing for her and her buddies...
and in turn, got some great photos to stare at...

We guessed at what she was thinking

and

what her little personality would be like...

Right before we traveled to meet her,

Maia Cai turned two yrs old.

This is her looking at the Birthday card we sent her.

She has blossomed so much in two years...

Loving school since her very first day on September 2010!

She now counts to 100 without stopping, knows her ABCs, all her letters, and their sounds...and will write any letter of the alphabet asked of her!

...and she just loves waking up every Saturday...

I live with a foster family now and am doing great!

(yes, I double-checked & he was still there on April 14)

Kevin is living with a foster family in Shanghai. He is from the Shanghai CWI-his file stated lower indexes. But, Since being in foster care, he is on target.

From an April update, Kevin just turned four years old. He is potty trained, speaks in 10-word sentences, feeds and dresses himself. He doesn't like cartoons, but likes war movies. He plays well with foster siblings. His foster aunt takes care of him in the day; foster mother during the night. He is outgoing and active. He says hello to others on his own. He has a good nature. His surgery was successful.

and LOVED going to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique...

To get her make-up... And hair done!

Complete with Glitter spray...

and a Princess Tiara The Fairy-God-Mother 'in training'

asked Maia to close her eyes

before she revealed her new look

Both Princesses had so much fun posing

And loved hearing:

"look at the twins..."

Then each had a real life prince carry her off...

...For Dinner at the Medieval Times Castle!

The girls could not stop giggling....

Telling Secrets...

It was a great day for these sisters,

who were best buddies all day...

...Even when Maia tried to steal Karrigan's cherry

(Karrigan turned to her & said, "You can have it!"---Wow)

Maia loved the show---

but made it very clear:

That she did NOT want to ride the horsey

After the show---

Ready for home and bed

And---the next morning the evidence of not having a bath the night before

(They were ALL sound asleep when we got home!)

...and Maia's Princess Hair-do is still 'in tact'

Let's start out with the youngest Valentine...

Maia was too thrilled to wear the Heart Dress

Give her friends "Balentimes"
Karrigan was sick the entire week of Valentines...but the week before..

got to bring me into school...
And show off her 'chosen' and displayed artwork in the school office!

Nolan enjoyed soccer season, which recently came to an end...

He was very involved in the game...

...I personally enjoyed going to the games because the assistant coach was kinda cute

(relax---it's Brian---)

There has been a quick visit to see Shae---

(away at college and still draining the bank account)

and an even quicker visit to Miami

(family didn't even know---we were there!)

Karrigan had a "go-see"

for a modeling job

After the go-see, we made a quick stop on the beach..

Growing up in South FL---

(I never appreciated the beach...at least not this much)

Karrigan enjoyed every second....

And yes, she got the job!

(Since we know the financial reality that will hit us when all these little ones are in college---we now put them to work early around here!)

So, Camden got a print job with D*sney...

According to Jenny, the orphanage really focuses on rehabilitation and education.

" It is a huge campus setting, with a sense of unity and family" among those who work there and foster families who live there.
